Mini Bio
His full name is Ronaldo de Assis Moreira. He was born 21 March 1980 in Porto Alegre. He who generally is known as Ronaldinho or Ronaldinho Gaúcho is a Brazilian soccer player, and now he plays for Italian Serie A side Milan and the Brazil national team. He is commonly considered as one of the most gifted soccer player of his generation.
Ronaldinho was born into a family of soccer aficionada, living in a wooden home in the heart of a favela. Joao da Silva Moreira, his father, who participated for an amateur club made ends meet by working as a car park attendant at Gremio Football Club. His brother Roberto was a big expectation for the club but subsequently his career was unluckily ended by an awful knee injury.
Ronaldinho is well-known in Brazil by the nickname "Gaúcho," so as to differentiate him from Ronaldo, who in Brazil was already called "Ronaldinho". Ronaldo only went by his first name upon his move to Europe, thus letting Ronaldinho to drop the "Gaúcho" and remain simply as Ronaldinho.
He played for Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona before his move to Milan, with whom he won his first Champions League in 2006. And in January 2007 he became a Spanish citizen.
There is maybe no limit to Ronaldinho's skills. The aptitude to play comes to him naturally, and the ball looks alive when at his feet- something alike to magic for extremely gifted magicians, you could say.
He has demonstrated glimpses of his former aptitudes at Milan and in September 2008 made contribution scoring his first goal for the Rossoneri in the city in opposition to Inter.
Aside from his individual aptitudes, his mere presence on the field implants a new level of confidence in his associates, and the opposition mentally loses the game even before it has begun. Ronaldinho is part of Pele's list of "125 greatest living footballers". In a survey performed by a Brazilian magazine, he was inducted into the Gremio all time favourite team too.
